WHAT IS VALD?

VALD is state of the art technology that is used across high level performance organizations (NFL, NHL, EPL) around the world. It is used to provide objective measurements for clients and athletes’ strength, power, movement, balance, and asymmetry.

This technology will provide insights to us at DEFY to make more accurate decisions by combining our clinical decision making with data driven metrics. With such a large database (millions of data points) behind the tests performed with their equipment, it provides normative data for clients. This allows us to not only show how well you are improving but how you stack up to other individuals your age. Having this will help with monitoring progress, returning to sport and leaving better and stronger than before your injury.

vald performance force decks
Force Decks

ForceDecks are a dual force plate system that automatically detect and assesses over 20 different movements, from squats to jumps and from isometric strength to functional tests, such as sit-to-stand and balance assessments. There’s a test for almost any athlete or injury.

These tests can give accurate analysis to many different metrics that are valuable for performance and rehabilitation. For example, we can use the ForceDecks to assess a squat. During a squat assessment we can determine:

  • Depth of Squat
  • Asymmetry of Forces (Right vs. Left)
  • Rate of Force Development

This list is not exhaustive but is meant to show a few of the capabilities and insights that can be taken from using the ForceDecks. Clinicians relied heavily on the eye test with isolated strength tests.

vald performance dynamo
DynaMo

The DynaMo is an all-in-one dynamometer and inclinometer. What this means is that it is able to provide precise measurements of muscle strength, power, and range of motion for all the muscles and joints of the body. It takes out the guesswork of the strength of our clients and provides exact objective metrics. Having this information helps provide more accurate insights to allow you and your clinician track progress over time.
